Under His Wings
Touching the lives of the terror victims in the Land of Israel in financial and practical ways.
Christian Friends of Israel desires to be a "light in the darkness" to many lives in Israel--lives where people have had their families forever torn apart and where surviving victims are often scarred physically and emotionally for the rest of their lives. These people are often in the news media for a day or two but months and years later they are often forgotten among the general population. Living with the memories of those horrible and tragic moments, they are depressed, emotionally distraught and feeling forgotten.
Touching the lives of the terror victims in the Land of Israel in financial and practical ways.
Terror is causing great fear among many peoples of the earth today. In Israel terror has been striking since the establishment of the State of Israel; however, the impact is much harder since the Intifada began in September 2000. Approximately 800 Israelis have been killed and thousands injured, in more than 15,000 terror attacks.
In Samaria and Judea alone there have been thousands of attacks against innocent people. Those who hate the God of Israel and His Chosen People continually terrorize innocent Jewish people using their evil forces and oppressive agendas as instruments of death.
Suicide bombers blowing themselves up willingly, in shopping malls bustling with activity, market places, restaurants and entertainment places, has become a weekly occurrence within the borders of Israel. Car bombs are often planted alongside busy streets where multitudes of people stroll. "...they caused their terror in the land of the living." (Ezekiel 32:23-26)
Stand Together
Comforting the People of God
Perhaps you have wondered... What happens to an eight year old child who has lost her father, mother and three siblings? Who takes care of a courageous Policeman after dismissal from a hospital after attempting to stop a suicide bomber from harming others? How does a group of young people who survived the worst terrorist attack in Israel cope emotionally when so many of their friends were blown into eternity in an instant?

Living with the memories of those horrible and tragic moments, they are depressed, emotionally distraught and feeling forgotten.
It is at this time, now more than ever, that Israel needs to be comforted. The Word of God tells us "Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem..." (Isaiah 40:1,2) To comfort one who is grieving is to encourage and cheer-up the hurting, to try to ease their grief and anxiety by consoling them in their time of trouble. Never before, for those of us living in the midst of the continual sorrow and tears, have we ever felt that the hour is so urgent as NOW to be the Lord's vessels of mercy and love to the Jewish people.
After 2,000 years of Christian contempt and unconcern towards God's chosen people, anti-Semitism went unchecked and developed into one of history's worst cancers between Judaism and Christianity. We now have a chance ...an opportunity given to us by God Himself...a window of time to make a difference and to help undo damage done in the name of the Messiah of Israel. In order to do it, we need your help.
A Jewish organization entitled "Victims of Terror in Israel" has met with CFI in Israel. The leaders, moved to tears, told Sharon Sanders, Director of Outreach, "You do not know what your standing with us at this time means to us. We are ready to work with you. There are so many people who need home and hospital visits that we can keep you occupied for a long time." Now could be our "shining hour" to cast the light of God's love on many more lives.

Handling Crisis
We bless families and individuals financially, and present them with gifts of love from the nations. The crisis we are in has impeded functioning normally so that individuals who are severely injured cannot return to their jobs. There is the added stress of unpaid bills plus the inability to provide for families and to pay for medical and other basic needs. A large percentage of families affected through injury in terrorist attacks are struggling financially. This will be an encouragement to them as many are now unemployed because of their physical handicaps. Many families are facing financial hardships.
We are touching lives in special ways that help heal damaged areas of their hearts. We present each survivor whom we interview with special-made items: (1) A Certificate of Courage and Sacrifice (2) A hand-made blanket sent from Christians in the nations (3) A satin pillow with the Star of David and a red heart on the front (4) A monetary gift. These gifts express in a visible way our ongoing and unconditional love for them personally and helps to bring encouragement and new hope. CFI has a Terror Attack Fund to which you can contribute to help the survivors and their families.
We continue with follow-up home visits to these individuals after our initial visit allowing us to continue to build relationships. This is where we often find God knitting our hearts together for His purposes. God is a God of Comfort and we need His Heart in these terrible times.
Christian Response
The number of terrorist attacks has increased so dramatically throughout the Land, that it has created the need for a Christian response from the nations.
Caring for those injured, or bereaved of loved ones, is a Ministry of Mercy and Compassion for our Outreach Teams at CFI. If we can help an individual or a family to begin to live again with new hope in the face of bewildering and difficult circumstances, then we are doing the work of the Lord!
