The Open Gates project serves new immigrants in their first three years in Israel by providing:
Whilst primarily assisting new immigrants, the elderly and the needy from many walks of life, the project is also open to those who have been in Israel over three years – they may apply for one-time financial assistance if they are experiencing extreme financial hardship.
Recently the Open Gates Project has welcomed new immigrants from a variety of countries around the world including: Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Germany, Mexico, Columbia, France and Belarus. Most were from the Former Soviet Union and a few were from Europe and Central and South America.
"I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west. I will say to the north, `Give them up!` and to the south, `Do not hold them back.` Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth" (Isaiah 43:5, 6).
