Open Gates

Assisting new immigrants to the land of Israel

“‘So there is hope for your descendants,’ declares the LORD. ‘Your children will return to their own land.’” (Jeremiah 31:17)

The Open Gates project serves new immigrants in their first three years in Israel by providing:

  • High quality garments from the nations
  • A gift bag with new basic household items
  • Food vouchers given to large families

Whilst primarily assisting new immigrants, the elderly and the needy from many walks of life, the project is also open to those who have been in Israel over three years – they may apply for one-time financial assistance if they are experiencing extreme financial hardship.

Recently the Open Gates Project has welcomed new immigrants from a variety of countries around the world including: Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Germany, Mexico, Columbia, France and Belarus. Most were from the Former Soviet Union and a few were from Europe and Central and South America.

"I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west. I will say to the north, `Give them up!` and to the south, `Do not hold them back.` Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth" (Isaiah 43:5, 6).
