It Is No Dream: The Life of Theodor Herzl (DVD)
The Dreamer Who Became the Father of a Nation
Product code: D124
Examines the life of the well-known journalist & playwright, who against all the odds, took upon himself the task of attempting to create a Jewish homeland in what was then Ottoman-ruled Palestine - becoming the father of the modern state of Israel.
After being horrified by the Dreyfus trial in Paris and the anti-Semitism he saw spreading across Europe, Herzl organized and led, over the span of 8 years, a worldwide political movement that within half a century led to the establishment of a Jewish state in the ancient Biblical land of their forefathers.
The film follows Herzl as he meets with Kings, Prime Ministers, Ambassadors, a Sultan, a Pope and government ministers from Constantinople to St. Petersburg, Paris to Berlin, Vienna to Vilna, London to Basel, in his quest to build a Jewish nation.
Produced by Moriah Films, the documentary filming division of the Simon Wiesenthal Centre, this is narrated by Academy Award winner Sir Ben Kingsley and stars Academy Award winner Christoph Waltz as the voice of Theodor Herzl.
