About the Authors

Christian Friends of Israel UK

We are a non-denominational Christian organisation, seeking to lift up the name of Jesus in all we do to bless His Jewish brethren and share the message of His love both for Israel and the Church.

As Jews in the past have suffered great persecution in the name of Christ, we seek to show them real friendship and love in His name.

Israel means the Jewish people, both inside the nation and in the Diaspora throughout the world. It also means the modern nation of Israel, which includes both Jews and Arabs, all precious to God.

So, we are Christians who love Israel and its peoples and believe that God has a special place for them in His Kingdom purposes before the return of Messiah.

John Smith

John Smith served previously as Director of the Centre for Biblical and Hebraic Studies, before which he spent six years working with Christian Friends of Israel UK.

He holds a BA Degree in Hebrew and Jewish History from the University of London (1993). He has a passion for Hebrew and believes that Hebrew is for the benefit and enjoyment of all Christians.

Roy Thurley

Roy Thurley was Director of Christian Friends of Israel UK from 2000-2007 and later served as the CFI Regional Link for North Wales, having previously been a member of the Board of CFI Charitable Trust. He continues to serve as a friend of Israel now with the Love Never Fails group of ministries.
