Seven weeks after the election in Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu has finally declared that he has successfully formed a coalition to govern Israel and informed President Isaac Herzog to that effect.
In the face of concerns about some of the policies the new right-wing coalition will pursue, Netanyahu claimed it will work for all citizens.
The coalition is made up of six parties: Likud (the largest group), far-right Jewish Power, Religious Zionism and Noam, along with ultra-Orthodox parties Shas and United Torah Judaism.
Current legislation requires the new government to be sworn in by Monday 2nd January 2023, but they are reported to be aiming to do that during the preceding week.
