Israeli Rescuers Working Hard

As part of the international rescue effort, Israeli teams are working hard in Turkey and having significant successes. Israel`s 150-strong IDF team arrived the day after the earthquake struck, supported by another team from the United Hatzalah emergency response organisation and others from Magen David Adom.

On Thursday evening one team reported that after 72 hours of very hard work they had saved 17 people from the rubble of collapsed buildings – which one team member said was “not less than amazing”.

In addition to the rescue teams, the Israelis have also set up a field hospital that was ready to start work on Thursday evening, with an additional 220 people – doctors, nurses and paramedics from the Israeli Defence Forces.
