Escalating Violence in and around IsraelFollowing the firing of six rockets from the Gaza Strip towards the Israeli towns of Ashkelon and Sderot in the early hours this morning, the Israeli Air Force responded with airstrikes against a Hamas weapons manufacturing site and a military compound.
The Iron Dome missile defence system shot down five of the terrorists’ rockets, while the sixth hit an open area in Israel.
These actions follow an Israeli operation against terrorists in the city of Nablus on Wednesday that saw the death of 11 Palestinians – most of them gunmen – with dozens more being injured because the raid took place in the daytime and met with armed resistance.
