A Very Challenging SituationThe 6-minute video by Sky News shown below is a useful summary of the current situation in and around Israel, which has many significant challenges. In particular, tensions caused by internal politics are continuing to increase and the country may be heading towards a constitutional crisis.
An important point to note within all of this is that the huge protests against government plans to reform the judiciary have been largely peaceful. Thank God for the restraint, both on the part of the protesters and the police. Most people seem to have ignored the fiery language used by some politicians.
If protests of the same scale happened in the UK (with the same percentage of the population) there would be more than 2 million people on the streets!
