Trouble in Israel on the Eve of PassoverLate Tuesday evening around 350 young Palestinians barricaded themselves in the Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem with various makeshift weapons including fireworks, thus preventing its use by worshippers.
Israeli police moved in to clear the mosque and made arrests while under fire. This gave Palestinian terrorists the excuse to claim that the mosque was under attack and that Muslims needed to rise up to defend it – a common tactic for Hamas and Palestinian Jihad.
Terrorists in the Gaza Strip then started to fire barrages of rockets at Israel, most of which were intercepted by the Iron Dome defence system, but one hit just outside a factory in the Israeli town of Sderot.
