European Parliament denounces PA incitement

For the second time in two months the European Parliament has passed resolutions condemning the Palestinian Authority for inciting violence, antisemitism and hate through some of the content in its school textbooks.

Indeed, this is the third time within the last eight months that the parliament has drawn attention to what has been a long-term problem. Now it is insisting that the European Union freezes its funding to the Palestinian Authority until it realigns its school curriculum with UNESCO standards designed to promote peace and tolerance.

This week’s resolutions explicitly linked the EU-funded textbooks to the ‘rising involvement of teenagers in terrorist attacks’ and demanded the removal of all ‘antisemitic references and examples that incite hatred and violence.’
