US Pressure against ‘Pay for Slay’30 Democrat and 20 Republican members of Congress have written a letter to Secretary of State Anthony Blinken requesting a status report on the Biden administration’s plans regarding the Palestinian Authority’s policy known as ‘Pay for Slay’.
Among Palestinians the scheme is known as ‘The Martyrs Fund’ as it provides financial support for those who carry out terror attacks and their families. The scheme is reported to cost the Palestinian Authority as much as 300 million dollars a year.
It is of interest to the Americans because several years ago they passed the Taylor Force act into law to cease funding the PA until the scheme was dropped - in memory of an American victim of a terror attack.
