Rocket Fire Ends Truce

The truce between Hamas and Israel was due to end or be renewed at 7:00am Friday 1st December. In the hours just before that deadline the Israelis reported that Hamas violated the truce agreement and fired toward Israeli territory, prompting rocket sirens to sound in areas of Israel near the Gaza border.

This morning’s violations of the agreement came in addition to Hamas’ breaches of the agreement on Wednesday and Thursday. As a result, the Israel Defence Forces released a statement shortly after 7:00am on X saying they have resumed combat against the Hamas terrorist organisation in Gaza.

Former ambassador to Israel, Dave Sharma commented that it was always going to be a temporary pause in the fighting to allow for hostages to be released, but Hamas has now clearly indicated it`s not willing to release any more and it`s resumed hostilities against Israel.
