South African Christians Support Israel

Philip Rosenthal, director of the ChristianView Network based in Cape Town, says:

“Many of the Christian community are deeply unhappy about
the allegations being levelled by our government on Israel.”

“We believe in Genesis 12 that this will bring a curse
on South Africa unless we distance ourselves from it.
So, we will do that, and we have been doing that very strongly.”

An organisation called Time2Rise South Africa has planned prayer meetings in significant towns around the country for the afternoon of Sunday 25th February.

They want to show solidarity with the Jewish state and to disassociate themselves from the South African case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which accuses Israel of committing genocide in the Gaza Strip.

South African Christians perceive it to be an unfounded accusation.

Each prayer meeting will include prayer for Israel, a declaration against the ICJ case, and a request for God to intervene in South Africa, where the government seems to have strong links with those who support the Palestinians.

Prayer meetings are planned in Pretoria, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Bloemfontein, Port Elizabeth, and Potchefstroom; with expectations that more will be added to the list.
