Gazans say Hamas Shooting at Them

Gazan civilians are becoming increasingly desperate as food runs out in Jabaliya, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip. Aid agencies continue to say they are unable to reach the area due to fighting and looting. Israel says there are many truckloads of aid sitting on the Gaza side of the Kerem Shalom crossing.

A video was uploaded to social media on Friday featuring an angry Gazan civilian speaking in the midst of a protest against Hamas in the Gaza Strip on Thursday 22nd February. He describes the protest as the “revolution of the hungry,” a revolution of the people of the Jabaliya refugee camp and the northern Gaza Strip.

And when the sound of gunfire breaks out, he says Hamas is shooting at hungry people who are looking for food – that Hamas have involved the people of Gaza in a war they do not want. He went on to accuse Hamas’ military leader, Yahya Sinwar, saying:

“It is you that is killing us, not the Israeli army.”
