Various United Nations officials, including the General Secretary, continue to accuse Israel of restricting the flow of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip. But according to COGAT, the Israeli group responsible for Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories, the month of March has already seen an average of 150 trucks of food per day, compared to the average of just 70 trucks per day before the start of the war with Hamas.
COGAT’s report for Tuesday 19th March says 248 trucks of humanitarian aid were inspected by Israel and transferred into the Strip, but only 126 trucks of aid were distributed by UN aid organisations – only just over half the number of incoming aid trucks.
Yet the United Nations not only refuses to acknowledge its failure to distribute the food aid effectively, the Executive Director of UNICEF has asked for the families of Israeli hostages to help get aid into the Gaza Strip when UNICEF has done nothing to help the Israeli child hostages. These injustices continue to mount up.
