Erdan Confronts UN General Assembly

Gilad Erdan, Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations (UN), confronted the latest meeting of the General Assembly on Wednesday, in a forthright and powerful speech.

Speaking the day after Jewish people had finished celebrating Passover, he said that this year they did not need bitter herbs to remind them of the affliction they have experienced as a people. That is because they are well aware of the atrocities committed against them on 7th October 2023 and that many hostages are still being held by terrorists in the Gaza Strip.

He went on to say, “the UN couldn`t care less about Israel,” not being interested in Israel’s safety, future or hostages! And noted that the “General Assembly is fuelled by nothing other than political interests.”

He highlighted that the UN General Assembly is not guided by the UN Charter, nor by morality, and claimed that “nothing exemplifies the UN`s rotten values more than the advancement of a Palestinian statehood.”

He reminded them again that the UN has still not condemned Hamas. Indeed, it has done nothing for the victims but has mobilised for the murderers.
