On Monday 17th June, Douglas Murray and Natasha Hausdorff took part in one of the Munk Debates and succeeded in getting two-thirds of the audience to support their argument that anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism are the same. That only represented a five percent swing in opinions during the debate, but it was a result that goes against the overwhelming international trend in thinking.
It was a strong, wide-ranging debate, but observers have picked out some crucial moments, including a particular one where Natasha Hausdorff caught out Mehdi Hasan for grossly distorting a quote from Arthur Balfour – author of the famously important Balfour Declaration.
Natasha achieved that by being so well prepared she was able to read the full quote which Mehdi had distorted.
This short video clip from the Rubin Report captures the point.
