A Time to Thank and Pray

It is a time to give thanks to God and to pray for continued mercy. Yesterday evening Iran launched against Israel what some are describing as the biggest ballistic missile attack in history.

More than 180 missiles were fired at many areas of Israel, travelling the 2,400 km distance in around 10 to 12 minutes, thus giving Israel and its allies much less time to respond than they had with the attack Iran launched in April.

Nevertheless, it seems that Israel’s defence systems worked well again, destroying most of the missiles before they reached their targets and prompting defence analyst Prof. Michael Clarke to comment "this missile attack didn’t achieve anything militarily at all."

Yet some of the missiles did get through, causing damage but no reported casualties. Israel’s missile defence systems are excellent, but it is appropriate to give thanks to God for this result.

While the Iranian regime has come under much criticism for this major escalation in the Middle East conflict, it is clear that Israel will respond militarily and other nations are considering placing sanctions on Iran.

Which means, in the words of Dr Erez Soref in Israel:

"We are far from finished with this event so this is a time to pray,
to pray for many, many people that are suffering,
to pray for wisdom for the leaders,
to pray that all those who have faith in the Messiah Yeshua [Christ Jesus]
can give comfort to those around us and just
pray for the morale and encouragement of people in Israel at this time."
