Despite much talk of a ceasefire agreement being close, Hezbollah fired several large barrages of rockets and drones at communities in the north and centre of Israel on Sunday.
Totalling more than 250 rockets and drones, the attacks wounded a number of people, including a man in his sixties who was hit in his stomach by shrapnel while working in a field in the Kfar Blum area. He was seriously injured and taken to Ziv Hospital in Safed.
The barrages of rockets sent thousands of Israelis in Tel Aviv rushing to bomb shelters. Cars and buildings were damaged in Haifa and other cities in central Israel, marking it as one of the less successful days for Israel’s Iron Dome air defence system.
The following report by i24 News suggests that bad weather may have limited the Israelis effectiveness in defending against the attacks.
It also shows the traumatic nature of the situation for Israeli civilians and features a statement by Mahmoud Qamati, Deputy Chairman of Hezbollah’s Political Council, claiming that they “are the resistance and we will prevail.”
