The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) have found it necessary to respond to several actions by Hezbollah that were in breach of the ceasefire agreement that took effect in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
In the latest incident, the IDF carried out an airstrike on a mobile rocket launcher in southern Lebanon on Friday afternoon, repeating their statement that they will act to remove threats that violate the ceasefire agreement.
Just the day before, the second day of the ceasefire, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that he didn’t view the ceasefire as a permanent solution and said it would have to prove itself.
In a Hebrew language interview he said that the ceasefire “could be short,” noting that the IDF had already had to enforce its terms on the first day, referring to a number of incidents in which Hezbollah members and civilians had tried to return to the south.
In this report by Fox News, former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo discusses the situation with the ceasefire and says it is no surprise that Hezbollah are not complying with the terms of the agreement.
