Thousands of people braved Storm Darragh on Sunday to take part in a rally against the flood of antisemitism that has washed over the UK since the 7th October 2023 massacre by Hamas terrorists in Israel.
Noting that successive governments have failed Jewish people in the UK, the protesters called upon the current government to ‘act against hate before it’s too late’.
The March Against Antisemitism travelled from the Royal Courts of Justice to Parliament Square, where they listened to speeches from various political and cultural leaders, including Gideon Falter, chief executive of the Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA).
Having listed various antisemitic incidents, Gideon asked:
“What impact does it have on Israel, Gaza, Lebanon or Iran?
The activism we are seeing on the streets is futile as regards the Middle East but is utterly potent here.
The power of the performative anti-Israel activism is not global but local.
It is British streets that are being made unsafe by people openly supporting terrorist organisations.”
His full speech can be found on the CAA YouTube channel.
