Antisemitism Hits New High

A new report published by the World Zionist Organization and the Jewish Agency for Israel says that 2024 was a “peak year” for antisemitism, registering a huge 340 percent increase in antisemitic incidents worldwide compared to the number in 2022, the most recent ‘normal’ year before the start of the Hamas-Israel War.

Raheli Baratz, the report’s author, claims the increase “poses a real threat to the foundations of Western democracy, where the new antisemitic discourse erodes the fundamental values of democratic society and creates cracks in the wall of pluralism and tolerance.”

Sadly, the quoted increase in the UK was even higher, at 450 percent, with almost 2,000 antisemitic incidents in just the first six months of 2024, as reported by the Community Security Trust.

And as we approach Holocaust Memorial Day 2025, these figures highlight the awful potential for another Holocaust against the Jewish people; so many others around the world are celebrating Hamas’ attack on Israel on 7th October 2023 and the awful dilemma in which the Israelis now find themselves – exchanging almost 2,000 terrorist prisoners for the release of 33 hostages.

Further evidence of antisemitism was seen on the streets of London on Saturday, as pro-Palestinian demonstrators fought against police.
