Christian Friends of Israel UK’s efforts to promote remembrance and understanding of The Holocaust continued over the weekend with exhibitions in Galashiels and a memorial evening in Brentwood on Saturday 24th January, to which we were invited to take a small selection of relevant resources.

The memorial evening was well attended and featured 87-year-old Susie Barnett BEM, who recounted her family’s miraculous escape from the clutches of the Nazis - an escape that still bore major negative consequences for them as a result of being widely separated.
Nevertheless, a significant positive in Susie’s story is her marriage in England in 1963, combined with the fact that her husband was with her at the memorial event on Saturday - 62 years of marriage!
Other Holocaust memorial events are due to take place on Tuesday 27th January in Eastbourne, Redcar, and Rockwell Green; followed by one in Stoke on Trent on Wednesday 28th January; Llandudno on Sunday 1st February; Eastleigh on Thursday 5th February; and Galashiels on Friday 6th February.
For those who would like to find out more about the Holocaust, we have a small range of resources in our Online Shop including the booklet Crimes Against Humanity, as well as books by Holocaust Survivors Dorit Oliver-Wolff and Arek Hersh.
