Frequent Antisemitic Attacks Continue

CST Report coverIt is with great concern that we note the Community Security Trust’s Antisemitic Incidents Report for 2025 reveals 3,700 instances of anti-Jewish hate took place in the UK last year. That is the second highest annual total ever reported by the group and represents a 4 percent increase over the 3,556 antisemitic incidents in 2024.

These figures show that antisemitic incidents continue to be more frequent than they were before 7th October 2023. The average of 308 antisemitic incidents per month is exactly double the monthly average of 154 incidents reported in the year preceding Hamas’ attack on Israel.

For the first time, CST recorded more than 200 cases of anti-Jewish hate in every month in 2025.

The most troubling aspect of the report is that the month of October was worst, with 463 antisemitic incidents reported. That was the month in which the Heaton Park Synagogue in Manchester was attacked on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.

Antisemitic incidents peaked with 40 cases logged on the day of that attack and another 40 on the day after it. Over half of those 80 incidents were reactions to the attack, celebrating it, dismissing it, or spinning conspiratorial narratives about it.

There is an urgent need for the people of this country to think carefully about antisemitism and what can be done to reduce it. If we do not challenge this increase, we could find ourselves on a very dangerous downward path.
