Holocaust Memorial Day in Israel

The Holocaust is understandably etched in the hearts and minds of the Jewish people. Which nation could forget two thirds of the 9 million members who lived Europe being methodically murdered by the German Nazi regime and its collaborators?

Unlike the UK, Israel’s commemoration day, Yom HaShoah, is held on the 27th of the month of Nisan in the Hebrew calendar (which falls in the months of April or May).

This year the commemoration started yesterday evening with a ceremony at the Yad Vashem in Jerusalem. Here is coverage of that ceremony published by i24 News, complete with English translation.
