Where is the Community Support?On Monday 1st June, ITV News posted a video report on the situation of Jewish people living in Golders Green, London. Chilling statistics that they quoted revealed that Jewish people are more likely to be targeted for a hate crime than any other religious or ethnic group. Eight times more likely than if they were Muslim, and 40 times more likely than if they were Hindu.
In addition to the recent arson attacks and stabbings, a Jewish visitor to Golders Green, who was walking along a street, was forced to the ground, kicked in the face and kicked in the back. A Jewish doctor who lives in the community was threatened with acid being poured on his face.
It’s not surprising that British Jews are asking:
"Where is the outrage? Where is the support from other communities?"
