The Uniqueness of the Year
`The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness` (Lamentations 3:22-24).
This year is unique in a number of ways. It is the year 5777/5778 in the Jewish calendar and here in the UK we have much we will be celebrating and commemorating. So we ask you to pray specifically for:
The offices and staffing – for strength, good health, a sense of teamwork and blessings on all at both the Eastbourne Office and Northern Office; for trustees and volunteers, which includes dozens of Regional and Church Links around the UK, for their walk with the Lord, their families and commitments and for the Lord’s favour in all they do for CFI.
The CFI Annual Conference – Israel: Covenants and Kingdom over Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd September; for Willem Glashouwer, Andrew Tucker and James Patrick plus Stacey and Kevin Howard, as speakers; for musicians and singers, but particularly for the staff as they prepare for this significant event.
The CFI UK Delegation Tour – the first visit of Stacey and Kevin Howard from CFI Jerusalem, now that the baton has been handed on from Ray and Sharon Sanders. Much of the detailed planning is now done and leaflets are being made available to advertise venues in Luton, Halesowen, Dewsbury, Billingham, Perth, CFI National Conference, Old Woking, Eastleigh, Oxford and Bristol. Please pray for everything from travel to technical concerns; from spiritual insight for the listeners to great support for CFI and its projects; to sleep and health of those concerned; from stronger ties between offices here in UK and Jerusalem to literature given out and resources sold to help gain more depth of understanding – God is able to go before us and protect us.
Balfour 100 Celebration – For those who want to attend the Balfour 100 Celebration at the Albert Hall on 7th November – a unique event for Jews and Gentiles to commemorate this historic document and to stand together for Israel. Please pray for those organising the event, especially Roy Thurley as he oversees finances and the souvenir programme for the event, and for the security of the whole evening as well as all of the travelling. Brochures and flyers for each of these are available through CFI for more details.
